reproductive justice

The following is a statement from the United Methodist Church's General Commission on the Status and Role of Women.

"The Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe V. Wade creates gender, racial, and economic injustice for all Americans. It draws deeper lines between those who have means and those who do not. It creates geographical disparities that erase equal access and opportunity to healthcare. By reducing a woman's rights, our class structure is further divided, contrary to our belief that all people are created equal. We grieve this injustice."

Further, the Greater Northwest Annual Conference voted to adopt a statement on reproductive rights during the 2022 Closing Plenary Session.

The GNW have also set up an online giving page to allow GNW Area members to support conference and area staff, clergy and their family members who may be impacted by this restriction of reproductive freedom.
